When we learned we were expecting our fourth child, Big Boy refused to entertain the possibility that we could have a third girl. He insisted that we’d already had a girl, so this one had to be a boy.
When Little Boy was born, Big Boy discovered that infants don’t make good playmates. Almost every day for many weeks, he asked me if Little Boy was big enough to play yet.
This year his wait was finally over.
I think this is the kind of brotherly love Big Boy had in mind three years ago.
This happens every day. Yes, it terrifies me. Stitches and broken bones will come — the only question is when. But I do love watching them play… when they aren’t arguing.

Love this. LOVE it. Oh how I can relate. Brothers are special. {And need lots of space.:) }
What's the age difference between the boys? My two big boys are 3 1/2 years apart.. Interestingly enough, our FIRST ER visit was a head injury for our "little boy" when he was almost 3 (fell backwards off a swing)… Our next major ER visit and first broken bone was our 20 month old DAUGHTER. Miind you, she and "little boy" were wrestling.. Where was big brother when that was happening?? (Actually he was in school..)
Truly beautiful:-)
I'm currently working on a children's ward for 4 months, and the kids are just sooooooooooooo cute, especially after they get better…aww
Kathryn, the boys are 5 years apart.
And our first non-surgery stitches were on our Little Girl, who was about a year and half old, after she dropped a glass vase on a concrete floor!
Babydoc, thanks! I think they're pretty cute too. And I never cease to be amazed at how healthy our Little Boy looks. I'm so thankful for doctors.
